ABOUT THE ROLE The School Quality and Accountability Specialist reports to the Director of School Quality & Accountability and supports the School Performance Department of DC PCSB in academic and non-academic performance oversight. The School Quality and Accountability Specialist will be responsible for helping implement DC PCSB’s new accountability system called ASPIRE and become the organization’s trusted, knowledgeable point of contact, both internally and externally, on high school, adult education programming, or career and technical education (CTE). The Accountability Specialist will also regularly monitor and analyze school climate data and propose revisions to the Attendance and Truancy Policy aligned with the ASPIRE System that reflect a shared understanding of why DC PCSB values student attendance. Ideally, candidates should have at least threeyears of relevant experience and be professionally curious and passionate about charter school accountability.
DC PCSB will hire two School Quality andAccountability Specialists. Each position will involve ownership of specific workstreams that are best aligned with an employee's strengths and areas of expertise to maximize efficiency and impact. We encourage candidates to highlight their specific skills and experiences that align with the responsibilities listed below.
Core Responsibilities Charter School Oversight
Become the organization’s expert on accountability and authorizing practices for the designated content area (e.g., high school, adult education, or CTE), including, but not limited to, staying abreast of local and national happenings related to said focus area, studying NRS, WIOA/WIOA State Plan, participating in city-wide Workforce Investment Council and Adult Education meetings, and engaging in the Office of the State Superintendent’s re-envisioning high school working group.
Monitor school climate data (i.e., tracking attendance and truancy patterns, issuing consequences based on the Attendance and Truancy Policy) and propose revisions to the Attendance and Truancy Policy
Regularly analyze and interpret academic and non-academic school performance data (e.g., assessment outcomes, graduation rates, discipline) through an equity lens.
Prepare presentations on ASPIRE outcomes for DC PCSB staff, Board members, school leaders, and other stakeholders.
Project Planning and Management
Assist in organizing and managing tasks, timelines, and deliverables, ensuring that all aspects of projects (e.g., ASPIRE production) are aligned and progressing smoothly.
Facilitate meetings with key stakeholders to communicate the status of ongoing projects, including progress, risks and potential solutions, deadlines, needs, and changes.
Document processes and relevant institutional knowledge to ensure year-over-year success.
Work with various teams to troubleshoot challenges, remove bottlenecks, and keep projects on track when issues arise.
Help identify potential risks or roadblocks in complex projects and develop mitigation strategies.
Stakeholder Communication
Engage regularly with public charter schools on accountability (e.g., facilitating meetings and drafting communication).
Represent DC PCSB at external meetings on matters related to high school, adult education, or CTE.
Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders regarding ASPIRE project management and a liaison between different teams/departments, ensuring clear communication and alignment of goals, strategies, and priorities across the organization.
Prepare and deliver regular progress reports, proposals, and presentations to management and stakeholders.
Communicate academic and non-academic data findings and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders.
Team and Department Support
Support annual ASPIRE production (e.g., verifying data accuracy and reviewing underlying evidence LEAs submit, quality assurance processes for ASPIRE dashboard and reports)
Support LEAs in identifying School-Specific Performance measures.
Support team in producing annual goals summary reports.
Support team in producing Review and Renewal Reports as needed.
Participate in SPD’s mandatory and voluntary all-hands-on-deck projects.
Other duties as assigned.

Proficient in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and web-based technologies like Google Workspace applications and Zoom
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree required
K-12 or adult education school-based experience required; coaching or school leadership experience preferred
Adult education experience (i.e., understanding of and experience with adult education assessments and WIOA)
Data-driven decision-making
Must express comfort and willingness to discuss, learn, and implement DC PCSB’s Race, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (REDI) framework to build relationships, navigate conversations, and support the Mission, Vision, and Values of DC PCSB.
Compensation and Benefits Salary is competitive and commensurate with prior experience in a similar role. DC PCSB offers a comprehensive benefits plan covering 100% of the employee’s insurance premium. In connection with our REDI commitments and to limit pay inequities within our organization, there is a non-negotiation policy built within our compensation system, so the salary for this role is $70,898 – $85,885.
